just like how you cannot, and should not, give up the forest to save a tree, an epiphany that i had today has lightened my heart somewhat.
i don't need to learn patience, i realised. i need to learn how to survive.
- handle stress well and turn it into a positive learning experience, even if i got bitten while being the good samaritan. so much for being nice but oh well at least i have a clear conscience.
- don't get disheartened by a few FUCKTARDS, much less waste time on people like that. because they are not interested in learning. not interested in advice. not interested in others who are trying to make coffee from shit.
- there is a difference between fulfiling one's duties adequately and being perceived as hardworking because others are not doing their job. either way, take it as a lesson learned. repeat to self: take it as a lesson learned.
- stand up for yourself without offending others unnecessarily. however, if baring your teeth and showing displeasure prevent others from trying to step all over you, by all means go ahead, as long as it's justified.
- one step at a time; the grass always looks greener on the other side, but when you go closer you'll inevitably come across the same rocks and wilting grass. have enough confidence in yourself to explore other options, but don't let go until you know you've tried your best.
walau now i sound like some fucking self-help book. can i quit my job and go write another useless tome on how to improve your life blah blah *rolls eyes*
ARGH.
