i think now i understand why my father banned me from internet chatting when i was a student.
advances in technology smoothen communication channels and presents us with opportunities for interactions we could only dream of previously. people are interconnected like never before, and getting to know that certain person is as easy as opening up your internet browser and after a few clicks, hell-0 beautiful stranger.
but this also means a whole new bucket of shite, i suppose. with all this frenzied interaction comes unnecessary doubts, uncertainties and agonizing. and when our perceived notions of that person dissolves away by harsh reality in real life, who do we blame? or rather, how do we handle it?
just came back from lunch with a victim. c'mon, girls ALWAYS know when they're being pursued. doing so many nice things then hoping she kinda knows but doesn't really know (?) is just a vain expectation. take things slow? but what if she never intended to give you a chance in the first place, my foolish friend? how can i tell that to your face, even as the truth is as clear as day?
technology might advance and improve, but human nature will not. perhaps it's time we all learned this lesson. smses and emails and facebook messages might be just a click away, but nothing but insincere pixels compared to neatly handwritten letters from close friends.
