HK pics are really not in order; can't really remember when we went where. so i tried to kinda sort them out by trips
MACAU
a super yummy eaterie we stumbled into rather randomly for breakfast, but turned out to be really nice. we were fortunate enough to have a very nice HK lady with her child who helped us translate and place our orders with the waitress. who said hongkies were rude?

in the ferry to macau- a rather bumpy and b-o-r-i-n-g hour's ride in choppy waters. ya la this is nothing compared to 'four metre waves in the south china sea', all you navy snobs pffft
at the ruins; wanted to check out the filming site for the final episode of Goong but due to our Lai King fiasco earlier in the day, we reached pretty late and it started getting dark. boooo

LANTAU ISLAND
at lantau island, to see the world's biggest metal buddha
acting like jackasses at a pilgrimage site; usually religious places move me, but at the risk of offending, i felt nothing at this place. strange but the country air and mountains gave me an inner peace i was not seeking

THE PEAK
the peak! besides the coooold wind mysteriously blowing only just outside the viewing gallery, this somehow really got me thinking.

the food at Hong Kong is really NOT cheap, but portions are generous and totally delish

i think i gained quite a lot in my back-to-back trips; going with different groups of people really opened my eyes to how people travel and my unexpected reactions in certain situations. and because i was not pampered all the time- although my whims and wants were definitely satisfied- i suppose i was kinda made to have a different take on traveling with friends, especially if they are not people i'm especially close to. that's where the greatest contrast between the two trips lay; yes, we can all technically enjoy the trip if traveling companions are considerate and mature, but going with friends and going with roomie and oldest friend was totally different.
well i learn and grow. hopefully for the better.
