There was once a dog which liked to use highlighters. Not pens, not pencils, but highlighters. It doesn't matter what its name was, because, well, it was a dog. There's no point in naming dogs, especially dogs like this one. (shaddup all you canine lovers this is MY story).
Now, there was nothing much significant about this dog, besides the fact that it was one greedy animal. To this dog, nothing was more attractive than another dog's bone; in fact, the harder to get, the better. Prehaps this is a common idiosyncrasy (an oxymoron!) amongst dogs, but I cannot confirm nor deny this, since I'm not a dog, contrary to some people's belief. ANYWAY.
This dog once hankered after a bone that already belonged to another dog; although it did its best in being patient and attentive to the bone, it decided to take off once it realised that nothing good was to come out of it. And because it was a rather eloquent dog, it managed to give the other dogs in the neighbourhood the impression that it was the bone's fault that things had turned out that way. SO the dog went on its way, and decided to settle down with another joint- albeit not as juicy- which had been hanging around all this while. The dog was satisfied for a while, but when a rumour that a fresh piece of meat had arrived at the butcher's started going around, the dog made a beeline for the shop, and thought itself indeed very lucky when a hunk of meat dropped on the floor. Grabbing it between its teeth, the dog dashed out of the shop; for it was not everyday that a dog gets such a goodlooking piece of meat.
Alas! Unfortunately, the piece of meat turned out to have.. smelly crevices of rotting flesh. Although indeed it looked delicious form the outside, when the dog bit into it, its tongue was covered in the most unpleasant odour possible, and although it had thought that it had indeed landed itself with a delectable piece of meat, and had abandoned its joint accordingly, the sheer acridity of the meat made the dog realised that it had, indeed, bitten off more than it could chew.
The joint, being the sort of forgiving, accepting, long-suffering joint that it was, had long ago decided that it was content with its lot, for, when you're a joint, you don't really have much choice. So its patience in waiting for the dog paid off when it came back, its tail between its legs.
And the dog died.

Crappy story, i know, but it was gnawing away my head for a few days so decided to just air it out. ah, the beauty of blogs. i like.
Went down for the n*avy open house last weekend; it was super crowded! i saw ships that derrick, qing huan, hong feng and martin sail in. i actually walked around martin's ship; sho funky. but i think i've been watching too many movies where ships are shiny, high tech floating computers where people wear cool uniforms and bark out important-sounding terms. because his ship was pretty cramped. i actually took some pictures but decided not to post it lest i unwittingly cause a breach in security or something. but the frigates were super big! got vending machine inside somemore. haha but i suppose it gave me a better idea of how navy ships look like, and how what they're doing might not be super duper fantastic, it is nevertheless important and reasonably complicated. *pats the navy guys on the head* AND. the tanned and very toned divers in their little diving shorts were easy on the eyes, too. VERY easy, indeed. hur hur
and i met yiling and angeline in town yesterday- i REFUSE to buy anything before ban*gkok. even if the GSS is on. so we ended up eating, eating then eating. i like to go out with them because i feel very.. relaxed. should that be the word? it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to know that there are still harmless people like angeline out there, who take delight in small things (in my more cynical moods i'll say cheap thrill la but let's be nicer around here) and radiate christian goodness. haha there's probably a moral in the story here, but i can't be bothered to look for it. because not all christians are good. not all.
pirates 3 was boring. oh johnny how could you let me down like this. there's still Zodiac, shrek 3 & what's that other movie that i'm planning to watch. definitely not holding my breath. i'm just not much of a movie person la prefer books. good ol' books, which i bought a small mountain of the past few days. me likie.
Ban*gkok next week! *quivering jelly-like with excitement*
Oh ya i forgot. (how could you forget miss park). on my last day of school, the girls made me a big heart with little notes pasted on it. sho shweet rite. but it didn't make me go all misty-eyed and all; instead, i was left thinking if this were a neighbourhool school, the pupils would have more to deal with besides the greatest english teacher thy've ever had leaving. *cough cough* haha so. i'm grateful that i got posted to this school after all; i'm terrified to venture to the dark side, actually hahaha but since i'm coming back for another month, i'm just going to enjoy my time there. yup. i suppose in life it's how we deal with things; we may mess up, we may accidentally intentionally mess someone else's life up, but at the end of the day i suppose you've got to be able to live with yourself. no matter what, no matter how. oh you know.
