so many single people bitch about how v day is so commercialised, overrated, so UNNECESSARY. some even turn it into a friendship day thingie, to spend the day with friends and basically try not to think about the fact that they're single. sounds familiar? it should.
i remember being single in jc, and getting flowers on v day. you know? now that i think back, it might have been nice to be attached in jc. but in many ways, i guess it's just as well that i spent my jc years with gilbert on the field, harbouring stupid crushes and cramming last minute for the A's. because it's nice to receive flowers on v day with no strings attached. but i still refuse to go to swensen's. cuz that's where all those jc couples go pak tor. hur hur
anyway.
valentine's day is not about guys giving girls overpriced bouquets of tired roses. nor is it about going out to crowded places for bland but expensive dinners. why do couples cheapen the meaning of the day by doing all these cliche stuff? it's like how christmas has lost its meaning for many, many people. of course, it's nice to receive flowers and go out for dinner etc. but if v day was meant to be a day for love, then is going out for a small celebration with your loved one less of a statement of love than an extravagant one? does that make your love much less significant? definitely not. or at least, i certainly hope so.
yiling my love gave me a pretty pretty champaigne rose. a single rose to stir my heart. ok that sounded lesbian-ish. but it's sho pretty. me likie! and a nice white rose. :) thanks for remembering my fav flower ^^
and what's with all these women wearing dresses on v day? haha went out with m wong and saw 90% of women wearing some kind of dress or other. or skirts.
here's thanking mr wong for wonderful 3.5 years together; not all of it smooth-sailing (almost always because of me), but fabulous anyway. :D
p/s. are all male figure skaters gay? i suspect.
