What I learnt.

don't:

  • rely on people to honour their promise to drink with you.
  • ask people to go watch movie with you.
  • sit ur ass down on a seat in the cinema where you are not wanted.
  • expect people to have the decency to do things properly.
  • count on friends to keep in touch with you unless you make the effort.
  • believe in the innate goodness of people whose appearances are so deceiving.
  • be so naive as to expect people to be as good to you as you are to them.
  • look forward to going to zouk after exams.
  • underestimate the extent to which you can feel fucked up after exams.

do:

  • be wary of whom you call your friends.
  • practice self-sufficiency.
  • hope for nothing.
  • have great expectations only for yourself.
  • detach yourself from the petty thoughts.
  • be happy for the person you are; you could be much worse.
  • appreciate the wonderful boyfriend.
  • feel grateful for the friends out there who DO care- thanks for the msn messages! really heartened to see that there are you guys out there who bother. :)

went to watch Aeon Flux with FurryFace. if i were a guy, i'd.. nevermind. charlize theron is really, seriously, extremely hot!! phwoar. but i didn't really enjoy the movie- perhaps because i was really tired, and there's only so much, as a heterosexual female, you can watch charlize theron in spandex heaven. even if she's got looong looooong legs. and the sound of gunshots got to me after a while- gave me a headache! can't wait for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to open (i harbour a crush on Peter the High King. ahh.. men with authority haha) - but i suspect that, like other movie adaptations of classics, i will most probably be disappointed with Aslan's celluoid version. like how rhett and ashley was forever spoilt by the movie. ashley oh ashley. haha oh i got a kingkong bottle! hee hee *happy*

i'm growing older. and as time passes, i'm learning. i realise that as much as friends enrich your life, it also means that you are opening yourself up to potential hurt and upset. so perhaps friendship is a gamble. until Derrick graduated, just spending time with him, watching tv in his room after dinner, disturbing his neighbours was enough. that, along with rugby trainings as well as hanging out with pearlyn, was enough. but after he left, now that he's so busy and cannot spend as much time with me as he used to (NAVY SUCKSSS), i've either made new friends or made better friends with existing ones. and i have to say, it's really nice! ok now i sound like some kind of an anti-social nerd la but i don't care. i'm just glad that before i leave this place, i've made more friends. and with the upcoming command stuff, i hope to get to know my fellow final years even better, as sad as that sounds. but i daresay that, as much as i love KR, this place has changed too much- stupid freshies haha half kidding- and perhaps it's time for us all to leave.

so. what did i learn? i learnt that sometimes i cannot expect too much from certain friends. or are they even my friends? i leanrt that i always feel better after a session of angry bitching and ranting with kailing, my favourite panda. i learnt that even as i feel let down by a friend, another comes along to pick me up with sweet msn messages, notes left on my door, caring words. but why no alcohol? ahhah out of the point. i learnt that Derrick really loves me (no need to learn la but just show off haha okok slap me), loves me so much that he rushed out of his house to meet me at Jurong Point to watch a movie when i just said i'm really upset. see? this is my kind of guy-little words, all action. okok i shall stop gushing on and on. disgusting right. i learnt that eating cheesy hotdogs after an oily dinner gives me an upset tummy. i learnt that if i sleep disgustingly early, i'll wake up disgustingly early and hence, feel very healthy and productive (?).

but i know there are still many, many more lessons for me to learn out there. i'll be fine as long as i've got friends and my FurryFace. :)
