THEN i had to ask for it and watch the singapore vs indonesia SEA games soccer game. during this game, i learnt a few things.
- Lionel Lewis is good for nothing but scratching his thighs and hitching his shorts up.
- singaporean soccer players think that the best way to defend their goal is to freeze, rooted to the spot, hoping that their psychic power would deflect the ball magically away.
- indonesian players think that a soccer match is a pseudo-wrestling match- poke, push and jab when you feel like it.
- indonesian players also have never heard of man-on-man defence; like bees to honey, as soon as a singaporean player gets the ball, at least two or three of them tries to tau pok him.
- never watch a SEA games soccer game, ever.
but it's pretty cool that there's a player on the singapore squad- the only useful one, i dare say- named precious. well, sounds like it. and he certainly proved to be precious indeed when he saved the goalie's ass when he deflected the nearly-in goal away to safety.
that's why real men play rugby.
