feels like insomnia

but i suspect i'll sleep like a baby tonight! if babies grind their teeth, that is. sounds like a bad horror movie. a bunch of crazed babies advancing on you with evil red eyes and gnashing teeth.

the day started off with a glorified version of powe^rpoint-read-aloud packaged as a staff meeting that lasted the. whole. day. punctuated by horrible food and random doodling because i am a professional and falling asleep in meetings do not contribute in any way to the school values, mission, and vision.

i think i'm going crazy with all these catchphrases.

dragged myself home and fell asleep for an hour before heading out to town in tshirt and shorts- but like we decided tonight, you probably won't meet your TRUE LOVE prancing around town in unglam clothes and if you DO and he decides to do nothing because you're under-dressed, then chances are, he isn't your TRUE LOVE. a conclusion we reached after literally walking all around town- i believe we covered the stretch of road flanked by monstrously identically illuminated temples of consumerism, the garish lights of se^legie, the surprisingly dark streets near sun(tec, ending off at full-er-ton where we surrendered to the effects of almost four hours of inane walking by jumping the queue and snatching a cab from drunk girls wearing napkins disguised as dresses. all this because we wanted to get our eyebrows threaded. sigh.

like i said, an outing with you is never normal HAHA

a lot of things on my mind, but one thing good about the human brain is its ability to forget. or rather, to prioritise. whatever that is not important EVENTUALLY gets filtered out, although the how can be rather excruciating while you're waiting for the when. just like when you have an unpleasant thought or even a less-than-savoury social encounter/interaction. if you occupy yourself long enough with other things of greater importance, the unnecessary dirty taste in your mouth just dissipates. try it. i think it works.

great. i just realised that it's already the very last day of 2009 and here i am, writing cryptic stuff when in fact my day was a good one. surreal, but good.

just like how 2009 was; not fantastic, not horrible, but good.

got my driving license, moved out to my own place, graduated and got posted to a school i did not want to be sent to but am settling down reasonably well in. learned many things in the short six months spent there, went for a 3-weeks course that opened my eyes to the fact that there are still many things i do not know, enriched some friendships while letting go of others.

wow. now that you think about it, it HAS been quite an eventful year, to say the least.
this is the new year and what have i done? all these, and much more.

now that 2010 is slightly clearer, i think i'm going to put my best foot forward and learn even as i teach. as an educator, and as a person.

oh. and insomnia feels so damn good; it's the only constant in my life that never leaves my side. and i wouldn't have it any other way.
