so it's back to school after the weekend; a quarter of a century old and still in school, i'm not sure what to make of that. well into my mid-twenties, and still playing around still worrying about unimportant things still as restless as ever.
i thought my twenties would be much more fabulous than this. no, scratch that; i thought I'd be much more fabulous than this in my twenties. instead, i'm still stuck in school, spending too much money, spending too little time with loved ones. what, am i supposed to be saving the world or finding the cure for cancer or something now? seems ironic, but i can't shake off this nagging feeling of having to do something greater, something significant with my life, even as i'm secretly enjoying the whole immobility of my existence while earning a proper adult's pay. no, that's not irony, that's hypocrisy haha but it's ok just something for me to think about in the new year, i suppose. what on earth am i doing with my life? i'm not supposed to be having a quarter-life crisis yet; i haven't quite achieved anything worth mentioning, nor getting upset over. you can't be disappointed with phantom goals that you never set in the first place, but then again, whose fault is that? mine, obviously.
i'm not going to give myself a long list of resolutions this year; mine last year was to get a driver's license, and look at me, i'm just on my way now. a year late, but better late then never? if i'm fulfilling 2008's resolution in 2009, when will the backlog end? perhaps this is a different way to plan for the future; makes you wonder, doesn't it, when people keep saying they're planning for the future but take action much later? maybe 'planning for the future' is just a euphemism (and/or excuse) for procrastinating. or it's probably just me =) so my resolution for this year is to not come up with resolutions- paradoxical, but i love it.
just feeling a little out of sorts; over-travelling, maybe (oh how annoying, some of you might say) but i miss spending time with me. just me.
