Cherrrrrr

tempers are flaring as assignments and project deadlines flood in, showing flagrant disregard for tired minds and weary souls. i thought once ICG was over we could just focus on work and be stressed but happy people. wait, that's the trouble; i assume too much and expect even more. 'stressed but happy people'? children, here's an excellent example of an oxymoron. do take notes, and feel free to ask me if you're unclear.

evie asked me today why i chose to teach- and although this is not the first time someone has asked me this, i found myself stumped for an answer. ummmmm i don't know. the most popular, albeit tired, answer would be that i have a passion to impart knowledge and mould young minds; that's the PC version, isn't it? but you know what? at the end of the day, when i really sit down and think about it, i wonder, too. *shrug* i have 5 years to find out, i suppose. but i'm very sure this is what i want to be doing at this exact point in my life. so. i might not know WHY, but i sure as hell know that this is what i want. am i trying to convince you, or myself?

we did some filming for our ed psych 2 project today, and i surprisingly found myself unable to act out the part of a supposedly-lousy teacher. not that i'm a wonderful teacher, but i just couldn't bring myself to raise my voice at my 'students', or even make cutting remarks. i suppose it's because they are my friends cum colleagues, but the fact that i cannot even imagine being in a situation where i might have to resort to such actions to maintain discipine in the classroom surprised me. it's one thing to push people on the field; it's totally a different ball game when it comes to students in the classroom. oh i don't know.

they say sports brings out a person's true character, for better or for worse. but i'm learning that maybe group work has a similar effect; even if you judge, do it kindly. but yeah, i have no sympathy for laggards. seriously.

i wana eat steamboat!!! *whine*
