It's funny how something that was so important to you once fades away eventually and leaves nothing but a faint scent behind.
I remember reading somewhere that once you're acquainted with pain, it remembers your address and comes back to visit you every so often. Sho angsty right.
It's july and i'm more or less packed for the month; seems that every weekend until the end of the month is booked. i wonder if the sudden rush of activity will eventually render me immobile. ironic, i know, but sometimes that's how it works, i suppose. the more busy you keep yourself, the more things you'll get accomplished. maybe that's why i'm such a perennial underachiever HAHA but july could be the turnabout i've been waiting for. another irony for me in july, since if a turnabout is more or less self-induced to change something mundane in my life now, i've had to wait for it to come. ho i'm just talking rubbish- must be the july weather talking.
Something about july depresses me; people associate june with summer, school holidays, sun, fun; august is the approach of autumn. but it's strange, really, how the english language robs july of its importance. In korea, we count months numerically, very much like the chinese. so summer months are the 7th and 8th month- july and august. i always felt it so strange how june makes me think of summer, and july, some washed-up remnant of fun. or perhaps it's because i'm stuck in this sweltering tropical island; hot, hotter, hottest. whether it's january or july, it's just as bitchin' hot out. or perhaps it's cuz school holidays are always in june. or simply, because once i pass by june, the halfway mark of the year, i'm already counting down to december. how simple is that? haha
so. i've officially started counting down to december~! december, of snowmen and icicles forming on rooftops. sigh. of snowstorms and rushing home to a warm fire and hot chocolate huddled under thick blankets. of buying deep-fried bread off the fire, walking home breathing mist out into the cold sky. of clean air and the peaceful quiet enveloping the serene countryside when i visit the family mountain. le sigh.
i hope you're well.
