Goodbye

i'm supposed to be packing, but i can't bear to. i already brought all my clothes back yesterday, but my room still looks the same. and as much as i want it to stay that way, by noon tomorrow, D513 will be empty once more, awaiting a new occupant. i don't feel so attached to this room per se, because i've changed rooms every year in hall. but what's hard is to leave the lifestyle we've all enjoyed unknowingly, the freedom and closeness we might have taken for granted all this while.

but it's too late for regrets. if you still have got a few more years to go, i advise you to make full use of your time here. in KR, in NUS. leave with no regrets.

and i want to say that i've lived my life in KR with no regrets.

i wanted to do something like Shuying, and do a sweeet photo collage of my years here.. but i seemed to have transformed into a photo whore only after year 3 or so. pity.

but in my first year, there were so many , so many people who made the year so memorable. i remember getting a letter from Owen, my FWOC chair. i remember Mavis calling me up to tell me what to bring when i move in. i remember singing 'London bridge is falling down' at the top of my voice to find my Ilios mates. i remeber helping to paint our OG mascot (strangely fittingly, it was a beaver hahaha). i remember playing pool games and knocking skinny Kimberly off the raft. i remember doing flag with Vincent aka vicious, and Chinny chin chin who went back early to concuss (tsk tsk). i remember shedding tears during RBI at A block (least favourite block, as a result) because Larry was sho horrible. i remember Qing Huan's nice note written at the back of a court's paper. i remember the dating game, and supposedly terrorising ZhongMing. i remember scolding Derrick for not accepting Meiting's date and leaving her wondering and nervous- all subsequent matchmaking attempts by yours truly fell through. the sneaky bastard. ahah i remember being sabo-ed into receiving the dubious honour of Miss Evalesco (how come yan yan got sash but i don't have). i remember winning best OG and being so darn happy about it. i remember Adrian who talked to me about joining block comm, and Ryan who talked to me further about it. i remember being grilled by the E blockers during block comm election. i remember working as a comm with block comm with Ru Jin, Mavis, Q.H and Zixin. i remember grocery shopping with Su Mei, and i remember bullying Han Mao, aka Maths Wunderkid. i also remember playing handball for the first time, and being terrified of hurting someone. it's not so bad when you're playing with Mavis or Becky, cuz then you have to fear for YOUR safety. i remember playing like crazy and winning touch IBG. i remember Weilun, and pretty Esther, as well as nonsense Jun Wei with his poker face.

second year was wonderful with my 7th floor sister, Pearlyn (aka fellow phantom). my windy room.

third year was fun disturbing Andrew aka andelu when i couldn't fall asleep. and moving into D block and going for night cycling, which was sho fun. the last batch of my seniors left, and i attended their command with mixed feelings.

fourth year was.. different. i finally realised my dream of being an FTC, i contributed to flag but didn't have to actually go out on that day to harass random people to give me money. i got closer to Yiling aka skinny bitch, and came to understand Kailing, aka Panda, better. i got close to Wilson and Peiching, and drifted away from both. i got to know Bazoooo better, and actually bothered to cook for block supper. oh, and i got to meet a princess in the flesh. how lucky this commoner is. i should be so lucky. i got to terrorise a new batch of yr 1s who unsuspectingly signed up for touch IHG. i got to do command, and realised too late that there are so many great people out there i should/could have gotten closer to, but didn't.

and as a fourth year, i get to pack up my room for good and bid this place goodbye.

i know the pain of leaving is less because now i've got things to look forward to. hopefully my KL trip over the long weekend will transform from a plan to reality.

and from the 15th of May, i'll officially be a full-time working adult.
