Book whore

talk about verbal diarrhoea.

have been reading up a storm and getting re-acquainted with all my old literary crushes. hee. Gilbert Blythe, Rhett Butler anyone? cannot, they're all mine ok! anyway, once i start working, i doubt i'll have the time to read so much anymore. but turning the familiar pages felt good, like visiting old friends you haven't seen for some time, and are unlikely to see again anytime soon.

like icq. i remeber when i was in year one (how long ago that seems to have been!), it was all the rage- nobody used msn! it actually felt normal to memorise the 6-digit icq number. but now, almost as if msn's trying to tell me that a new cycle is beginning, that it's time for me to move on, STUPID MSN IS SCREWING AROUND WITH ME AS WELL, like icq did. all the classic signs are there- mysterious sign-ins & outs, being disconnected suddenly, too many ghosts of conversations, both pleasant and otherwise. oh sigh. i hate it.

but at least i've got my sleeping cycle back- sleeping before 12, waking up before 8. me likie! it just feels good to greet the morning sun with clear eyes and a rested body. you know.. like how your sleeping cycle can get so screwed up that you fall asleep at 5, 6+ a.m and wake up in the late afternoon? i really hated that! not that i'll have that luxury in less than 2 months' time, if all goes well.

change is definitely a good thing- seriously can't wait to start working. i know i'm in the minority when i say that, but it feels like i've remained so stagnant for so long. i've neither grown (save for extra pounds i've heaped on post-ihg) nor learnt new things for so long. university education is definitely enriching, but i believe that not all that is to be learnt during these years are taught in classes. or is that only because there's no point in attending all lessons if the eventual grade is going to be the same, if not similar, anyway. but that's just complacent (and lazy) me talking. indeed, what tutorials DO teach you is to be pompous, overly argumentative and act like you know much more than you actually do. oh you bunch of fools.

practising for command is.. fun but draining. first and last time i'm ever going to be on stage in kr- and hopefully, never again. dancers trying to teach you how to dance, and making it look so easy, is like giving someone a ball and asking her to run straight and score, simple as that. but i'm glad for the chance to work with people i'd normally not have; people whose paths have never crossed mine in my years here, and vice versa. and i'm having fun with the girls in my item; really glad that there're not too many of us. although some people might be more socially-retarded, or simply uninterested, than others. heh

speaking of command.. i've got nothing to wear! :( always hated going to formal diners in hall; not really worth actually dressing up for, but people tell you that you can't wear jeans down. ohoh. jeans. think i'll get the princess cut ones. if i try it on and it looks pretty, that is. yiling has been lusting after it, and it's pretty infectious.but it's high time to start changing my wadrobe! can't wear shorts and birkies forever.

lists are indeed helpful things. lists reminding me of what's to be done. i shouldn't procrastinate so much- starting tomorrow. hur hur

hur hur.. i'm so sick of so many people saying it lately. it's everywhere! i hate it. it gets annoying when you see it in the lift, in emails, ANY type of written correspondence. did someone make it hugely popular, and i was unaware of it? what's wrong with a little variety- the hahas, hee hees, kekekes and muahahahas are bound to feel neglected soon. so. i shall elect to say (or rather, write) more HEEs rather than hur hurs. or how about brouhahaha? (correct, derrick? haha)

friendships are like flowers, i think. not so easy to bloom, but once it does, it's so pretty.i hate saying so many buts in one sentence, but i guess it's possible, and many people do so, to kill them off as easily. just neglect them for an extended period of time, and they die off. and it wasn't an exaggeration when someone said that the closest friends make best enemies. on the other hand, it's so pointless and draining to have enemies, especially at this age; but give me someone who shows dislike honestly over someone who hides it behind a mask of codiality any day. i suppose it's so much easier to sail through life so insignificantly, hardly causing any ripples, enemy-less, able to get along alright with anyone. but if so, where will colour come from?

one interesting thing about life is that, forgive the inevitable cliche, it's so unpredictable. or is it the human heart that is so fickle and unreliable?

seems like all the project report collating has made me even more long-winded than i'm apt to be. sigh.
